Board of Education Basics

What Does the Wyckoff Board of Education Do?

A Board of Education:

  • Sets district policies and long-term goals
  • Approves the annual school budget and oversees district finances
  • Hires, supports, and evaluates the Superintendent
  • Ensures the district follows state and federal education laws
  • Makes decisions in the best interest of all students and taxpayers
  • Does not manage day-to-day school operations; that belongs to the Superintendent and administrators.

The Wyckoff Board of Education has seven members. In the November 3, 2026 election, Wyckoff voters will fill two full three-year terms and one unexpired two-year term.
