Our Priorities
Mission & Goals
We believe strong schools are built on trust. Our mission is to lead by example through collaboration, transparency, and accountability. Every Board decision affects real children, families, and educators, and those decisions should be grounded in evidence, communicated clearly, and made in partnership with the community. As parents and community members, we’ve spent years volunteering, attending town meetings and events, listening to families, and asking thoughtful questions, because we care deeply about Wyckoff and its future. Our goal is simple: to build trust by listening first, leading thoughtfully, and keeping students at the center of every decision.
Honor Our Strategic Plan
Our community spent countless hours creating a Strategic Plan. We believe it shouldn’t sit on a shelf. It should guide every major decision the Board makes. We will ensure Board decisions remain connected to the district’s strategic priorities and long-term vision. By grounding decisions in established goals, data, and the needs of our students, we can support thoughtful progress while maintaining focus on what matters most.

Technology should serve learning, not replace meaningful learning. We will support the development of a thoughtful, evidence-based framework for technology and screen time in our schools. By examining research, gathering stakeholder input, and establishing clear measures of accountability, we can ensure technology use supports student learning, well-being, and meaningful engagement.
Build Trust Through Transparency
We believe trust is built through listening, communication, and accountability. We are committed to seeking community input, thoughtfully considering diverse perspectives, and clearly communicating the what, why, and how behind Board decisions. We recognize that leadership is not only about the decisions we make, but also about the process through which those decisions are reached. Through open dialogue and responsive leadership, we will work to strengthen the partnership between the Board, families, educators, and the broader Wyckoff community.
Our First-Year Priorities
Meaningful change takes thoughtful planning, collaboration, and time. As Board of Education members, our role is to govern responsibly, ask informed questions, listen to our community, and ensure decisions are aligned with the district’s vision. In our first year, we will focus on building a strong foundation for transparent, responsive, and strategic leadership. Within our first year, we hope to:
Strengthen the connection between Board decisions and our district’s Strategic Plan, ensuring that priorities, initiatives, and resources remain aligned with the goals established for our schools.
Support a thoughtful, data-informed conversation around technology and screen time, reviewing current practices, examining research, and ensuring that stakeholder voices inform future decisions.
Strengthen trust between the Board and the community, expanding opportunities for dialogue, improving communication around decisions, and creating a culture where families understand not only what decisions are made, but why.
